Since starting his career in hospitality at the age of 14, James’ progression has been an exciting and rewarding journey.
After gaining the necessary experience as a Kitchen Porter at his Fathers conference centre, James started as a Commis Chef at one Michelin-starred Gastro-Pub The Cross at Kenilworth, where he would be for four years progressing to Sous Chef.
James went on to land further roles at other Michelin starred institutions including Hampton Manor and stage at The French Laundry, California before moving to London at 24 years old.
Here, James joined Cornerstone by Chef Tom Brown, a seafood restaurant located in Hackney Wick. Hired as Sous Chef, James was quickly promoted to Head Chef working closely with Tom to develop the unique style and mouth watering flavours that Cornerstone is recognised for today.
Cornerstone and James were awarded their first Michelin star in 2021
James now holds the position of Executive Chef of Cornerstone.
