For the last 16 years, Alex has worked with some of the best chefs in the UK including Gavin Aitkenhead, Anthony Flynn, Sat Bains, Phil Thompson, Richard Turner and Tim Allen. He firmly believes you don’t have to open in London anymore to be successful – London is not the pilgrimage it once was.
If we are going to create something special does it matter where it is? Sat’s restaurant is a perfect example. It’s next to a pylon, under a flyover, next to a cigarette factory. Nobody cares where it is! People come from all over because of the reputation. I want people to get on a train from London to the Midlands.
After plenty of blood, sweat and a few tears it’s time to fulfil his dream. Alex has now opened his first restaurant in his adopted city of Nottingham. He has a site which is very special and the transformation has created a beautiful setting for Alex’s vision. A must for all foodies!
